Optus - Clever Buoy

Clever Buoy is one of those unique projects that it's great to be a part of. Not only does it have the potential to save lives, I've been able to track its development for over 18 months, and I've been able to travel to some fantastic locations like the Abrolhos Islands, pictured above. 

The buoy itself uses radar and specifically tailored software to detect sharks, then send a signal via the Optus network to alert beach users. While still in the development phase, the interest in this project has seen it featured in news stories across the globe.
