Woolworths Fresh Market Updates

These were great fun to work on. Not only did we get to travel Australia every couple of weeks, we met fantastic people, sampled fresh produce of every variety and had a ball.

One of about 150 commercials filmed for Woolworths over a two year period, the Fresh Market Updates were all about thinking on your feet. Producer Mick and I would usually arrived at late in the day to meet our hero farmer and do a quick recce around the farm. I'd take this opportunity to shoot a few overlay shots where possible and try and make the farmer feel part of the process. Then we'd come back the next day, bright and early, trying to make the most of the morning light. 

Thankfully host Fabrizio Omodei could memorise anything after a few reads because we'd usually have to film three different versions of each ad. Once Fab had done his introduction we'd interview the farmer and quickly shoot any other shots we needed before hopping back in the cars and driving a few hundred kilometres to the next farm to start all over again.
